Debut album from late soul singer. Frank didn't happen for Amy Winehouse. The album didn't tank but it wasn't the monster that was her sophomore album that introduced most of the world to her wonderful vocal stylings. It wasn't until after her death the masses started taking notice of 'Frank' and realizing what they'd been missing out on. Working with producer Salaam Remi, Matt Rowe, Commissioner Gordon & others, the album's feel is much more of an R&B / Hip Hop approach with a soul tinge. There are moments that give a glimpse of what was to come, and some outstanding shining moments contributed from the singer, but her calling had yet to be answered according to the press. Luckily we can now enjoy the first album once again, reissued in its entirety with those incredible vocals shining light from above. Gatefold jacket, 2 x LP.
