The weight also helps temporarily level imperfect vinyl for even better performance (note: this is not a solution for warped records).
For discerning DJs, the AT618a has become a performance necessity to negate bass feedback that's created by loud sound systems. It's also easier to transport than other metal-only stabilizers because it features a rubberized exterior design.
Because of the added weight applied to the platter and motor, the AT618a is not recommended for budget turntables (sub-$200 turntables).
