Lab Overview

Lost gems from Beau Williams pressed up for the first time ever by Truth & Soul! Soul and funk heads will recognize Williams' name from his modern soul output for Capitol in the early 80's, but this 45 contains a rare treat - two sides of powerful, funky soul, orginally recorded as tape demos! As the story goes, Beau Williams submitted these tracks to Lionel Whitfield's Whit Label back in the day, and it wasn't until David Haffner and Brian Sears of Magnetic Recordings rediscovered them from the tape archive of TSU jazz director Howard Harris in 2011 that they resurfaced. Both "I'll Be Home Soon," and "Outside Love" have a raw emotion that can be felt just through Beau's vocals and the undeniably funky (though sadly uncredited) drumming. Only 500 hand stamped copies pressed, recommended.
