This 12" sampler (from their forth coming Cosmic Machine compilation) offers a rare glimpse into the 70's French cosmic & electronic avant-garde scene - a time when "the synthesizer was man's best friend and when the future had a future." You've probably heard of Jean Michel Jarre or Cerrone, but these dudes dig way deeper to shine light on seldom heard gems. Check Frederic Mercier's "Spirit" for an exercise in lush synths and heavy beats (as sampled by Jay-Z on "What We Talkin' Bout"), while Pierre Bachelet gives us a dose of deep space disco funk on "Motel Show". Also included is a special rework of Spirit from Norwegian disco wizard Prins Thomas, plus an extended edit of "Motel Show" from Uncle O. Can't wait to hear the full release! Recommended.
