  • Groundbreaking third album from Iceland's queen of pop, Bjork. With the release of Homogenic Bjork shed her Icelandic pixie image. The album's starkness served to server any ties to the more precious aspects of her public profile. Perhaps it was the end of her relationship with Goldie that led her to produce work with more emotional depth than she had in the past. Some speculate that "5 Years," which was first performed live just weeks after their breakup, is about their relationship. Along with exploring deeper subject matter, Homogenic was Bjork's most artistically adventurous album to date. She worked with LFO's Mark Bell (who she had wanted to work with since Debut), Mark "Spike" Stent, and Post contributor Howie B to create an album that moves between dark, uncompromising songs and more soothing material. There are many great and memorable moments throughout the record, including album opener "Hunter," the sweeping, melancholic "Bachelorette," and the unforgettable album closer, "All Is Full of Love."  Limited edition 2019 silver colored cassette. Recommended.
