Lab Overview

Back to back edit heat from Blackcash & Theo. For the 21st installment in their long-running Galaxy Edits series, BC&T take on a couple of digger favorites, easily recognizable as sample sources to hip-hop classics. Taking the A-side is an edit of Ahmad Jamal's cover of Foster Sylers' "Misdemeanor," as used by Primo on Gangstarr's "Soliloquy of Chaos," Black Moon on "Black Smif-N-Wessun", and Pete Rock on "Somthing Funky" to name a few. BC&T's "Jazz Mix" edit brings all the most recognizable moments to the front, making it an indispensable tool for playing out. Dionne Warwick's "You're Gonna Need Me" is tastefully edited on the flip, a monster of a soul tune most will recognize as flipped by the masterful J Dilla on "Stop" from his 2006 opus Donuts. Recommended.
