The NYC group, formed by Lawrence Chandler and Martha Schwendener in 1993, melds shoegaze & post-rock aesthetics into a trip-hop framework, and onLushlife, it crafts smokey & decidedly blue compositions that could easily draw comparisons to Portishead's material.
