Legendary performance from Buena Vista Social Club on double vinyl. The performance took place at Carnegie Hall on July 1st 1998 and featured veteran Cuban players Ibrahim Ferrer, Ruben Gonzalez, Compay Segundo, Omara Portuondo, as well as producer Ry Cooder performing songs from the acclaimed documentary of the same name. For the film, Cooder traveled to Cuba to record sessions with local musicians, many of which had never been heard of outside of Cuba. The music was inspired by a members only club of the same name that operated in the 40s and 50s in Cuba. Many of the musicians on the album performed at the club during its height of popularity. 16 tracks in all with gatefold sleeve.
