Caribou hits the intergalactic dance floor on his latest. After a lengthy wait, Our Love sees the return of Dan Snaith's Caribou project. Having heavily focused on his alter ego Daphni for the last few releases, Snaith's attentions seemed to have turned from moving crowds in a mental capacity to moving crowds in a more physical way. His psychedelic past takes the back seat throughout most of the album, yes there is the occasional glimpse of Up In Flames and a TINY hint of the skittish Start Breaking My Heart, but for the most part we are treated to a new, boiler room friendly Caribou. If there was a fantasy football of electronic music we can safely agree on putting Toro Y Moi, Jamie XX, Four Tet, and Aphex Twin on our team.... this album makes us think Caribou had the same exact thoughts. Vinyl cut at half-speed, pressed on 180g vinyl with download coupon. Recommended.
