Lab Overview

Who is Carpenter Brut? His real name is Franck Hueso, but other than that, very little is known about the French electronic music producer. The anonymity is a deliberate attempt, we hear, and it is to let the music speak for itself. And Brut's style, which fuses horror film soundtracks, metal, rock, and electronic music, is such a distinct one that it certainly stands out (he has been commissioned to contribute original tracks to various soundtracks in addition to working on his own releases). Trilogy compiles three of Hueso's EPs, EP I, EP II, and EP III. Dark synth work, left-field samples, and distorted guitar over ("Paradise Warfare" even has some saxophone work) four-on-the-floor rhythms of varying tempos are the common elements that tie together the heaters on Trilogy, check out: "Escape From Midwich Valley," "Disco Zombi Italia," "Le perv," "Roller Mobster," "Looking For Tracy Tzu," "Turbo Killer," and "Anarchy Road."
