The Greatest was originally recorded in May of 2005 and found the singer-songwriter working in Memphis with former members of Booker T. and the MG's and Al Green's band. It marked a turning point in her career, moving away from the acoustic guitar of previous releases towards a sound that was as informed by country and soul as it was by indie folk. Includes the songs: "The Greatest," "Lived In Bars," "Could We," and "Willie." Thirteen tracks in all. Released by Matador on black vinyl housed in a full color sleeve with a printed insert and a digital download.
