10th anniversary repress. Dave1 and P-Thugg's funkdafied sophomore effort from 2007 is given the deluxe reissue treatment on heavyweight 180 gram white vinyl, complete with gatefold sleeve and 7 remixes. That's way more funk than you bargained for, and we wouldn't have it any other way. You might even call it Fancier Footwork. Our O.G. Lab review: Chromeo return to the album game after a few years of live shows and mixtapes, and they're sounding fresh as ever, proving why they'e the shiny funk superheroes of the Vice roster. Right off the bat, the intro tells you what you're getting into as some sassy females chant "CHRO-ME-OH! OHHH-OH!." Then they hit you with the one-two punch of the heavily vocoded "Tenderoni" and the title cut "Fancy Footwork," both filled with unfadeable melodies and tons of shimmery, squiggly synth. Digging deeper, you can't help but get down to the juiced up boogie pop of "Opening Up," "Call Me Up" and "Outta Sight." Did we mention that the album was mixed by Zdar and exec-produced by Tiga? Well it was. And also, the artwork is perfect. 11 tracks with 7 bonus remixes from Crookers, MSTRKRFT, Laidback Luke, Yuksek, and more. Recommended.
