ON LIFE WITHOUT SOUND, THE FOURTH ALBUM FROM CLEVELAND-BASED INDIE ROCKERS Cloud Nothings, Dylan Baldi & Co ditch the lo-fi haze of their last few records for a cleaner and more polished sound. The last time we heard from them, they linked up with L.A. stoner brat Wavves for 2015’s collaborative effort No Life For Me. The band flirt with the noisier stylings of No Life on “Strange Year” but generally stick to more straightforward power pop & indie rock, with more smart hooks and catchy riffs than we’re used to hearing from them, indicating real maturity as a unit. Released by the band’s longtime home Carpark Records (Toro Y Moi, Beach House, Memory Tapes), this indie-exclusive version comes on slick green marble vinyl.
