Lab Overview

There are times when you just want a little no frills indie rock. Courtney Barnett's music is just that, with an added dose of wry humor and melancholic wit all expressed in an unabashedly heavy Australian accent. You might want to call her a traditionalist, her music is steeped in the guitar heavy indie rock of the 90s and the long history of underground rock and roll. Her lyrics and the bands ability to move between punchy songs and more furious moments sets them apart from the rest of the indie pretenders. Checkout "An Illustration of Loneliness" and "Kim's Caravan" as well as "Nobody Really Cares If You Don't Go to the Party" and "Elevator Operator."
