Repress of some hard to find tracks from Shake along with a few new ones. The West Side Sessions features material originally released in 1997 as the M3 Sessions by the now defunct, legendary Detroit record shop Record Time. The original version is pretty hard to find so it's great to see Kyle Hall reissue the tracks through Wild Oats. The four tracks play on the late 90s Chicago disco loop style but through Shake's distorted Detroit techno lens. A bit faster and much more freaky with the effects. Everything's been fully remastered and Hall and Shake have gotten together to throw in a little something extra. The included 7" features unreleased material from that very same DAT Tape. "G.J" takes the looped up style of the other tracks but moves more in a Latin direction. Kyle Hall's 808 dub of "Frictional Beat #6" is a nice and dirty, but super functional beat track. There are endless loops on both sides of the 7" as well. Screen printed black paper sleeve with hand stamped paper inserts & printed paper note sleeve. One for the heads.
