Lab Overview

Brian Baker of Minor Threat formed Dag Nasty in 1985, and he recruited Colin Sears and Roger Marbury (Bloody Mannequin Orchestra) for the initial lineup. The band would go on to operate with a "revolving door membership," with Baker remaining the only original member. Can I Say dropped in 1986, and it features Dave Smalley of DYS on vocals. The album includes "Under Your Influence," perhaps the best known track from the melodic hardcore outfit, and other highlights like "Circles," "Values Here," and "Can I Say" do well in showing off the more emo side of the aggressive genre.
