Dam-Funk blasts off into the funkmosphere once again. The positivity and light shine through on Dam's brand new effort, Invite The Light. While we've seen plenty of material released from our favorite funkateer over the last 6 years, Dam sees the project as something of a rebirth and his first fully realized album. His constant search for all things honest and pure comes through the 16 track opus making the listening experience feel like you're sitting shotgun with DF cruising from Prince's crib all the way to Hermosa Beach with the top down. For those that follow the Stones Throw alumn religiously (cough, me!) you might recognize some of the material from soundcloud demos or live performances over the last few years, only now much more realized. Boogie, Funk, Steppers, Electro, G-Funk... yeah it is all present, but can we all agree genres only help those that are missing the Soul. Triple LP pressing on white vinyl in mirrored gatefold jacket. Now glide.
