The much-anticipated double album from Death Grips is finally here! On The Powers That B, the experimental rap group from Sacto combines the previously digital-only Niggas On The Moon and Jenny Death into one absolutely insane, final(?) album. With rumors of Bjork collaborating, band break up, and shifty release dates, the hype leading up to this release was monumental. In typical Death Grips fashion, the band finally let the truth loose, although still leaving us somewhat in the dark. The Bjork collaboration turned out to be somewhat true as her voice is sampled and chopped to smithereens on every single track of Niggas On The Moon, and obviously the band is still around, but for how long? Best to enjoy the industrial-rap-noise-punk goodness while it is still flowing freely with powerful cuts like "Up My Sleeves," "Black Quarterback," and "Big Dipper" from Niggas On The Moon, while the Jenny Death sides contain the visceral "Inanimate Sensation," the riotous "Turned Off," and the title track "The Powers That B." Heavy is an understatement.
