  • Highly anticipated sophomore album from Sacramento's Deftones. Around The Fur saw the alternative metal band further developing their sound. They went into the studio for the first time with producer Terry Date, who would go on to produce their follow up, White Pony. The resulting album was a blunt, aggressive slab of metallic guitars and hammering drums. The rhythm section of Abe Cunningham and Chi Cheng had grown tighter while singer Chino Moreno's vocals became ever more out there. The band plays with loud-soft-loud-soft dynamics throughout the album to great effect. The success of the album propelled the band to fame in the alternative and metal scenes.

    • black vinyl pressing
    • includes printed insert
    • original release year: 1997
    • music label: Maverick 2011
