  • Techno madness from Bookworms via Spain's Anòmia imprint! Purported to be made using only a Roland TR-606, TR-808, and Alpha Juno 1, Mechanism features three tracks of No Wave influenced techno. Bookworms, who's released more subdued material on L.I.E.S. and Confused House, adds the DJ prefix for this decidedly more aggressive material. The tempos are pushed and the sounds more distorted on both the title track and "Photogenic." Everything seems to stream by at 140 bpm, a barrage of analog drums and synthetic noise. This is for those peak time moments that require the audience to take a little pain, knowing they're going to enjoy it. For those that make it through Bookworms has included a salve with the warm and mellow chords of "Product Configuration." We're looking forward to more from Bookworms and Anòmia.
