A supreme dose of deep house from DJ Nature aka Milo! He got his start as a founding member of the Bristol based soundsystem The Wild Bunch (which spawned Massive Attack, Tricky and much more), and went on to make New York City his home in the early 1990s. From there it was collaborations with Japan's Major Force crew before hooking up with Golf Channel boss Phil South. South eventually persuaded DJ Nature to get back into production and thank goodness he did! After releasing a series of banging 12"s for the label we get a taste of his fully developed sound on his debut full length, Return Of The Savage. Nature takes his influence from the bass heavy sound of his soundsystem days and modern producers like Detroit's Theo Parrish and Moodymann. Samples drip like syrup over low slung bass lines and free form drum programming. It's house music bound together with the heavy influence of jazz and soul. The music is minimal in its elements which come together in unexpected and rewarding ways. Equally appropriate for dark dance floor moments and those times you need to escape into your mind. Double LP in gatefold sleeve, includes download codes for individual tracks as well as the DJ mixed version. Recommended.
