  • Ann Arbor's D'Marc Cantu has maintained a packed release schedule over the past few years. He's dropped heaters on labels like DJ TLR's Crème Organization, Dutch producer Aroy Dee's M>O>S Recordings and New York City's Sequencias. The Car Type EP, one of his more recent releases, is filled with the variety and quality that we've come to expect from the prolific producer. Released on Tom Dicicco's Run Out Run, the EP kicks off in high gear with the fast paced "Track Pattern." The filter house of "Spotlight" takes you a bit higher before the gritty techno of the title track. It hits you right in the gut, sounding like Liaisons Dangereuses on a dark acid freak out. "Iridescent Life" rounds out the release with deep, dub inflected techno. An excellent release and word is that Cantu has another in the works for the label.
