Of all the producers in the Sex Tags camp the illusive Don Papa stands alone. Hailing from the southern coastal city of Moss, Norway he delivers tracks that are as good as they are diverse. Whatever he sticks his hand into you can be sure there will be plenty of bass and bounce. The productions are incessantly sub heavy, primed to rattle anything in the surrounding area. There's the upfront dancehall riddims of "Bombata Soul Funk Electro" and the underwater jazz funk of "Vinyl Rules." Or have a taste of "Metal Zone (NYC Edit)" for a slice of decaying electro masquerading as a hip hop instrumental. However, the centerpiece of Rock My Tempo is the extra freaky vocal house of "Done (Piano) Bass Vocal Mix." Metallic synths melt all over a pre-programmed vintage drum machine beat as a live electric bass line works its way around the track. The vocals add to the atmospherics while piano stabs lead you on to the dance floor. Not for the faint of heart but so worth it once you find your way in.
