Lab Overview

Funky private press oddity from the SF Bay Area. Doug Hream Blunt's music is part funk, part rock, part psych, all outsider and 100% awesome. Gentle Persuasion plays like the funky counterpart to a Greg Wilson record - less creep, more freak. Here Blunt puts you under his spell with loosely played funk, carefree vocals, and wildly hypnotic solos. Just check the title track "Gentle Persuasion" and you'll hear why this record was sought-out by dudes likes of James Pants. Completely original and totally unique. Worth it for this one alone, but the rest of the tracks are just as great. Also check the video of "Ride The Tiger" below to see the man in action! Recommended.
