The follow-up to the cult classic Dr. Octagonecologyst! This is the REAL return of Dr. Octagon (we'll just pretend the 2006 version doesn't exist), and at last, weird rap's weird trio of Kool Keith, Dan the Automator, and DJ Qbert give the fans what they've been thirsting for upwards of 2 decades. Kool Keith's bars brilliantly fly off in every direction imaginable ("Wimbledon Stadium / leather seat recline / Superstar like Ernest Borgnine), and the Automator's idiosyncratic production is full of beeps, bloops, and dissonant soundscapes he masterfully macerates over funky-ass drums. Then there are the god-level scratches from the turntablist god himself. After more than 20 years in the game, Dr. Octagon adds another original body of work to the rap landscape, something that's not concerned w/ current trends but stays true to the group's eccentric core. Check out "Black Hole Son," "Polka Dots," "Octagon Octagon," "Area 54," and "Operation Zero."
