Lab Overview

Sweet, sweet soul. On first listen, you might mistake Durand Jones & The Indication for a vintage group. It's an easy error to make, especially since the Indiana trio of Durand Jones, drummer Aaron Frazer, and guitarist Blake Rhein, excel in that vintage sound (think Motown / Tamla / Stax). This particular 7" is the first release since their breakout 2016 self-titled debut, and finds the three-piece back in top form, covering two tunes from the Numero catalog - "You And Me" originally by Penny & The Quarters, back with "Put a Smile On You Face," originally by the EJ And The Echos. Fans of Daptone and dusty 45's alike would do well to check this out.
