Oooooh. E-40's debut album finally reissued on vinyl, courtesy of Get On Down! Originally released in 1993, Federal was Earl Stevens (aka E-40) first full length and the beginning of a long career in rap and slang innovation. The Bay Area rap icon was one of the first West Coast rappers to sign to a major with 95's In A Major Way, but Federal came a couple years prior, and was released on 40 Water's own Sick Wid It imprint. Here Forty would introduce the world to his flamboyant, hyper-inventive flow over funky ass productions that sample from soul legends like Isaac Hayes, Sly Stone, and The Ohio Players. Of course there's some of that Bay Area synth-heavy style as well, with guest spots from E-40's cousin B-Legit, Kaveo and Mugzi to boot. 14 tracks in all, slappers front to back. Yee!
- 1st ever vinyl reissue
- music label: Get On Down 2018
