  • The first installment in Jeedo's new imprint, Dirt Tech Reck, is here! The former Slum Village member credits DTR-01 to his Electric Street Orchestra alias, where he brings together a "constellation of Detroit's sonic masters." On the A side Jeedo is joined by Underground Resistance co-founder "Mad" Mike Banks and producer Chaos/UR-043 for the genre smashing "Scorpio." There's plenty of 303 action from Banks, but the rhythm is anything but Techno. On the flip is Master Funk Association, a conglomerate who's membership is nothing sort of impressive: house legend Theo Parrish, erstwhile Slum Village DJ Dez Andres and The Rotating Assembly's Duminie DePorres. Their "M.F.A." features a fractured beat that is buoyed by a heavy dose of bass. Jeedo's Dogon mix of "M.F.A." offers up a bed of chords to rest your weary head on. An impressive start for this Detroit based label. Recommended.
