Fourth studio album from Icelandic-Italian Emiliana Torrini. Fisherman's Woman was originally released in 2005 and was a step away from the electronic sounds of her debut. Occasional touches of guitar and piano create a spacious platform for Torrini's beautiful whispers. If her voice sounds familiar, you've probably been watching The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers where she contributed vocals to "Gollum's Song." It will be easy to draw comparisons to Bjork and Nick Drake, but Torrini traffics in her own unique mix of optimism and despair. Twelve tracks in all.
