Lab Overview

Heavy, heavy, heavy! Sofrito giving pivotal Guadeloupean singer and percussionist Erick Cosaque his dues with a remastered EP of heavy weight Gwo Ka rhythms circa '88 - '93. Around this time, Roland's legendary 808 and 909 drum machines were infiltrating all aspects of music worldwide - whether it was Chicago house, Detroit Techno, and Jamaican dancehall. The technology would eventually make its way to the French Caribbean, infusing itself with the long standing Zouk sound of the area. Kaloukera Percussions showcases four percussion and drum machine workouts from the era, with Cosaque and Les Voltage 8 bringing down the walls with upbeat, virtuosic performances. Four tracks including "Bazouka," "Banbou La," and more. Fully remastered sound for maximum get down.
