Four Tet can't be stopped. His latest full length Beautiful Rewind, proves once again that Kieran Hebden is capable of producing incredibly moving music in a myriad of electronic styles. For the past five or six years however, it seems Four Tet has been infatuated with the sound of the UK underground. It's this obsession that has fueled the evolution from his early downtempo and electronica works to the more progressive pieces found here. Traces of jungle, breakbeat, dubstep, techno, and garage can be heard all over Beautiful Rewind. From the muffled opener "Gong," to the raw thumping, MC-laced "Kool FM," the minimalist bump of "Buchla," and the brilliant "Aerial," its clear Kieran's been spending some time in the underground and on the dancefloor. His roots aren't completely forgotten though, as tracks like "Ba Teaches Yoga," "Unicorn," and "Your Body Feels," provide the perfect chilled-out counter balance to the heavier moments. 11 tracks in all, pic sleeve.
