Third studio album from Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey's Front Bottoms. Back On Top sees the band building on the sound of their previous releases, combining strains punk, folk, pop punk and emo. There's a strong pop edge to much of their material and this album might be their catchiest to date. The guitars, bass and drums are all heavy, backing up the strained and shouted vocals. The lyrics are personal and emotional, but they stay away from the melodrama of much of the emo and pop punk getting produced today. The hooks abound, especially on songs like "Help" and "Laugh Till I Cry." Eleven tracks in all. Released by Fueled By Ramen on Indie Exclusive gold vinyl.
