Fugees
Refugee Camp - Bootleg Versions Vinyl LP
Ruffhouse Records
↳ remixes, b-sides + live rarities from The Score era

Official reissue of The Fugees' 1996 remix album. Includes a nice mix of rare remixes, live tracks and unreleased tunes. Salaam Remi's "Ready To Not" remix plays up the group's (and his) West Indian roots and is kind of an underground classic at this point. Clark Kent's version reshapes the trio's classic tune in a more down-to-earth style; the Enya sample is swapped for more traditionally gritty Timbs rap textures, and it's interesting to hear Lauryn's vocals re-layered in a way that makes her sounds more like a random backup vocal chick from the era instead of the all-powerful frontwoman. Also check out "Vocab" (both versions), "Don't Cry Dry Your Eyes" and the live version of "Killing Me Softly." A nice complement to The Score.
