Producer of the moment, Adrian Younge, gives Ghostface Killah a much needed sound re-design on this official studio album (if you count those half-official albums, GK is already over 10 albums!). Unlike most everything in life these days, hip-hop isn't always about progression: best sometimes to stick with what works best. Younge follows the RZA-soundtracky-soul blueprint, enhanced with his own live studio repertoire. Has Ghost had a better intro than "Beware Of The Stare" (sorry RZA)? Drums and spooky keys set the stage on nearly every track, and Younge's expertise in throwback soul vocals adds another rich layer of invention. 12 tracks in all.
