Expanded reissue of Goblin's Profondo Rosso! Death Waltz has gone ahead and and given this Goblin jewel the deluxe treatment, including an entire second LP of alternate tracks and takes from the Cinevox Archives, on vinyl for the first time ever. Of course the original 1975 album is included as well (they even used the same pressing plant as back in the day for the repress), finding Simonetti, Morante, Pignatelli & Martino at the height of their creative powers. From the sinister, organ-fueled theme tune to Profondo Rosso (aka Deep Red, aka one of Argento's finest hours) to the angular, uptempo "Death Dies," this is a horror OST masterpiece that blurs the line between prog, jazz, and rock, with a heavy dose of organs and synths. Giorgio Gaslini's also contributes jazz-funk vibes with "Deep Shadows" and the aptly titled "Wild Session." This limited 2018 pressing is presented with remastered sound on colored vinyl (translucent purple + orange), and housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring spot metallic printing an jaw-dropping artwork by Randy Ortiz.
