First compilation album of Dead hits. Skeletons from the Closet: The Best of Grateful Dead was originally released in 1974 and quickly became (and remains) the best-selling Grateful Dead album. It was put out by Warner Brothers Records, who saw the opportunity to capitalize on the bands enormous back catalog after the Dead had started their own self-titled record label. Featuring 11 tracks in all, including 9 studio songs and 2 live renditions. Limited to 6,000 copies pressed on white vinyl, released by Rhino Records as part of their "Start Your Ear Off Right" series.
