Come On Down is the debut EP by Seattle proto-grunge outfit Green River, which was initially comprised of future Mudhoney members Mark Arm and Steve Turner, future Pearl Jam members Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, and drummer Alex Vincent. Some consider it the first grunge record ever made; it's the undeniable missing link between the band members' hardcore punk background and the iconic sound of their later projects. The last vinyl pressing was 1989 and the record has been tough to get ahold of for quite some time, but the mighty Jackpot Records have remedied that with this deluxe green colored vinyl pressing including full repro of the original cassette jacket on a printed insert. Includes the original version of "Swallow My Pride" (re-recorded a few years later for their debut full-length), "Tunnel Of Love," "Come On Down" and three more tracks from the original 12-inch, plus "Your Own Best Friend" which was previously only available on the self-released cassette version.
