For Trace Realm Jimmy Billingham (aka HOLOVR) skillfully blurs the lines between ambient, acid, house, and techno, resulting in something that is just as fulfilling in the headphones as it is on the dancefloor. Check "Transient Field" and "Drift Portal" that weave squirmy 303 lines with introspective pads and propulsive drums, while "Into The Outer" utilizes a similar formula for even deeper effects. This is also one of the rare instances to enjoy Billingham's music on the vinyl format, as most previous releases were restricted to cassette or digital. Fans of Aphex Twin, Lnrdcroy, Ex-Terrestrial, etc. should definitely check. Recommended.
