Deluxe repress! The original vinyl pressing of Jedi Mind Tricks' fifth studio album, Servants In Heaven, Kings In Hell, is a hard one to find. Thankfully Babygrande has gotten around to repressing this standout of the early-aughts East Coast underground. The Philadelphia based duo of MC Vinnie Paz and producer Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind delivered a potent blend of politically minded lyrics and idiosyncratic production that won over fans and critics alike. Paz's delivery was filled with references to current events, like the second Iraq war, while focusing on problems at home as well. Guest spots include a dynamic appearance from R.A. The Rugged Man on the Vietnam war tale, "Uncommon Valor," and Non Phixion's Ill Bill tearing up the Carmina Burana sampling single, "Heavy Metal Kings." Standouts include the aforementioned tracks along with the modern slavery epic "Shadow Business" and the death obsessed cuts, "Black Winter Day" and "Razorblade Salvation." As an added bonus the label has included the Terror Remix of "Heavy Metal Kings."
