  • Jeff Buckley's Grace has won the admiration of many musicians over the years. Released in 1994, some of rock's greats including Bob Dylan and David Bowie, have expressed their appreciation for Buckley's music. The album contains seven original songs along with three covers. "Lilac Wine," a standard most famous for Nina Simone's 1966 recording, captures the late soul singer's energy and spirit. His rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" has been called some of his best work. The original material stands up to these covers as well. Check "Grace" and the classic "Last Goodbye" for starters. Despite the critical praise the album did not sell well initially. However, over the years it has continued to be a popular album. Buckley accidentally drowned in 1997 while he was in the midst of working on the follow up to Grace
