Star Trek: Discovery, taking place roughly 10 years before Kirk,Spock, and the Enterprise, examines the Federation-Klingon war through the eyes of the crew of the USS Discovery. Backing up the on-screen adventures is an original score by Emmy-winning composer Jeff Russo, who has also worked on acclaimed shows like Fargo, Legion, and The Night Of. Russo's thought process behind the compositions: "Yes, people fight, but the overall theme is that we're all one. What could I do to embody that in music?" For the main title, he worked with a 64-piece orchestra and incorporated in elements from the original Star Trek theme. For the rest of the score, utilized 51 players, and the result is an epic soundtrack that accurately represents the series. Experience the tension, doom, mystery, and also, hope that comes with discovering new worlds and lifeforms!
