Pascal Rioux's Favorite Recordings has been on quite a tear lately. For My Love Is Underground the label has teamed up with Jeremy "Underground Paris" for an essential compilation of lost deep house cuts. Jeremy's My Love Is Underground label has been releasing deep house 12"s for nearly half a decade. Born out of the Parisian's near compulsive obsession with 90s deep house, the label got its start putting out unreleased material from producers from that era. Since then My Love Is Underground has gone on to cement its reputation as a beacon for hardcore deep house heads. The tracks featured on My Love Is Underground are truly obscure gems from that golden era of deep house. There's the early 90s New York deep house sound of DJ Nature's Natureboy project as well as the dirty sounding "In From Behind (Boom Boom Ina Bedroom)" by Caucasian Boy. What about the UK garage of Vissal's "Get Up On Your Feet" that somehow managed to go by unnoticed at the time of its release? I've been on the hunt for the dark and sinister sound of Project Democracy's "Is This Dream For Real" for years and am happy to see it included here. Of course not everything is a hard to obtain overpriced piece, but Jeremy and Rioux have already done the hard work for you. My Love Is Underground is definitely the work of an obsessive house fan of house music. A definite must for anyone that might consider themselves the same. Recommended.
