Cats Under The Stars is regarded as one of Jerry Garcia's favorite studio projects. Originally released in 1978, the album would be the Grateful Dead frontman's 4th solo effort and the only record to be presented as the Jerry Garcia Band. Garcia said in the late 80's, "The record I worked hardest at and liked best was Cats Under The Stars. That was kind of like my baby... I worked real hard at it and was very diligent and almost scientific about it. There was a lot of heart in it, you might say." Includes the Garcia/Hunter masterpiece "Rubin And Cherise," "Cats Under The Stars," and "Gomorrah," all of which would be become live show staples.
