Quarterthing is Joey Purp's studio debut. It's the follow-up to 2016 mixtape iiiDrops, and the Chicago rapper, who is the founding member of Savemoney (Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa), delivers a musically diverse project w/ guest appearances from GZA, RZA, and more. Purp gathers a diverse group of producers to achieve the varied sound palette, from the footwork stylings of DJ Taye on "Aw Sh*t!" to Nez & Rio's gentle, mid-tempo stomp on "Elastic." What remains consistent is Purp's dedication to delivering passionate, articulate verses, and his flow really shines on tracks like "Hallelujah" and "Goodbody." Other tracks to check out: "Fessional/Diamonds Dancing," "Lebron James" and "Look At My Wrist."
