Lab Overview

There's a bit of disco and kraut influence in the music of Jonas Reinhardt (aka Jesse Reiner). The New York based producer has worked with Phil Manley of Trans Am, and Damon Palermo of Mi Ami and Magic Touch on past releases for labels like Not Not Fun, Kranky and Kraak. Where those previous releases were awash in Jarre-esque synth washes the former San Francisco denizen picks up the tempo for his 100% Silk debut. Foam Fangs evokes the glittery discos of the 70s, with its upfront synth work and looping sequences. The retro vibe that Reinhardt inhabits is brought into more modern times with subtle Detroit techno influences. It's the perfect antidote to the banalities of so much dance music that is out there today.
