Sophomore studio album from New York based singer-songwriter Julie Byrne. Not Even Happiness finds Byrne in constant motion, her lyrics filled with the images of the landscape that passes by her window. Her fingerpicked guitar and deep voice are joined by subtle orchestral arrangements and found sounds to create a music that draws from folk and new age. She recounts the towns she's passed through on tour and the spaces in between. For all of the vivid imagery contained on Not Even Happiness it is a decidedly inward looking album. It's a deeply evocative piece of music that reflects on the transience of life. Nine tracks in all. Released by Ba Da Bing! on black vinyl with a download code.
