Another helping of lush ambient+vocal works from Kid Koala! Io follows 2017's Satellite as the second installment in the Music To Draw To series, finding Eric San (bka Kid Koala) teaming up once again with a vocalist for inspired soundscapes designed to help boost the listener's creativity. Trixie Whitley is recruited on vocal duties this go round, while San holds down instrumentation on a vast array of vintage synthesizers and electronic noise makers (including the trove of rare instruments at Calgary’s National Music Centre). The final product is a stunning work to behold (especially if you are only familiar with Koala the scratch DJ), with depth and nuance that deserves repeat listens.
