King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard give new meaning to the world ‘prolific’. The Australian group has mined nearly every forgotten nook and cranny of psyche rock, surf, prog etc over fourteen studio albums. Fishing for Fishies is their first in a year, and this one is inspired by post-blues Boogie rock and our soon-approaching environmental apocalypse. “The Bird Song” sounds like Of Montreal crossed with T. Rex, “This Thing” keeps on chugging along amongst shrill flutes and honky-tonk riffs. And you gotta love that harmonica work on “The Cruel Millennial”, a solid callback to jam bands of yore. This is the US/ATO Distributed version of this record and is pressed on "U.S. Toxic Landfill" colored vinyl. (We think it's more of a "opaque marbled swamp green".) Includes a printed inner and 24x36 poster.
