Lab Overview

Ninth studio album from Melbourne, Australia's King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Flying Microtonal Banana is the first of five albums the band intend to release in 2017. Named for Stu Mackenzie's recently acquired guitar custom modified for microtonal tuning, the bandleader reportedly paid his bandmates $200 apiece to mod their own instruments to be able to play micro-scales as well. Includes the songs: "Rattlesnake", "Nuclear Fusion" and "Sleep Drifter"; nine tracks altogether. Released by KGLW / ATO Records on 'lucky rainbow' eco mix vinyl with download code.

  • 'lucky rainbow' eco-mix colored vinyl (please note: eco-mix vinyl production uses leftover wax that’s already in the factory, meaning each record is different and the color is completely random. it’s more environmentally friendly as it’s using up material that would have otherwise been thrown away. actual vinyl color may vary, every copy is unique.)
  • eco-friendly packaging w/ brown paper outer bag
  • digital download included
  • limited edition
  • original release year: 2017
  • music label: ATO Records 2023
