Nonagon Infinity checks all the King Gizzard boxes… microtuning, fuzz, ultra dorky format gimmickry - each song transition is deliberately seamless and the album starts and ends as a seamless loop when played on repeat (cop doubles!!) but it’s not so grandiose that it becomes unlistenable (ahem… Zaireeka). Conceptually, not much specific Lizard Wizard mythology to be gleaned from this but we now know that a nonagon is a nine-sided polygon (that’s it on the cover, and yeah there’s nine songs). And despite the heavy-handed arrangement, the songs are actually quite diverse. Highlights include “Big Fig Wasp,” “Gamma Knife,” “Invisible Face” and “Wah Wah.” Green and black splatter variant, housed in gatefold jacket with full color printed insert.
